The company’s mission is to provide access to clean and affordable energy to over one million rural poor community members in Madagascar and reduce at least one million tons of CO2 emissions. Jiro Solera empower local women to distribute solar lights to poor rural households throught low installment payments. These women sell solar lights locally to their network of family, friends and neighbors and earn a commission from each product they have sold. For the moment Jiro Solera distribute only simple solar lights but the company's goal is to distribute solar systems with pay as you payment models and provide access to more opportunities to rural households. And the business's long term goal is to provide power in rural areas with off-grid systems using small scale photovoltaic power plants and promote productive use of energy and become the leading energy provider to rural households in Madagascar.
